Kapitel 13

2 Und1732 sprach559 zu der ganzen Gemeine Israels3478: Gefällt2895 es euch und3548 ist‘s von dem HErrn3068, unserm GOtt430, so laßt uns allenthalben ausschicken7971 zu den andern7604, unsern Brüdern251 in allen Landen776 Israels3478, und mit ihnen die Priester und Leviten3881 in den Städten5892, da sie6951 Vorstädte4054 haben, daß sie zu uns versammelt6908 werden6555;

3 und laßt uns die Lade727 unsers Gottes430 zu uns wieder holen5437, denn bei den Zeiten3117 Sauls7586 fragten1875 wir nicht nach ihr.

4 Da sprach559 die ganze Gemeine, man sollte also tun6213; denn solches1697 gefiel3474 allem Volk6951 wohl.

5 Also versammelte6950 David1732 das ganze Israel3478, von Sihor7883 Ägyptens4714 an, bis935 man kommt935 gen Hemath, die Lade727 Gottes430 zu holen von Kiriath-Jearim7157.

6 Und David1732 zog5927 hinauf mit dem ganzen Israel3478 zu Kiriath-Jearim7157, welche liegt3427 in Juda3063, daß er7121 von dannen heraufbrächte die8034 Lade727 Gottes430, des HErrn3068, der auf5927 den Cherubim3742 sitzet, da der Name angerufen wird.

7 Und sie ließen die Lade727 Gottes430 auf einem neuen2319 Wagen5699 führen7392, aus dem Hause1004 Abinadabs41. Usa5798 aber und sein5090 Bruder283 trieben den Wagen5699.

8 David1732 aber und das ganze Israel3478 spielten7832 vor6440 GOtt430 her aus ganzer Macht5797 mit Liedern7892, mit Harfen3658, mit Psaltern5035, mit Pauken8596, mit Zimbeln4700 und mit Posaunen2689.

9 Da sie270 aber kamen935 auf den Platz1637 Chidon3592, reckte7971 Usa5798 seine Hand3027 aus, die Lade727 zu halten; denn die Rinder1241 schritten8058 beiseit aus.

10 Da erzürnete der Grimm639 des7971 HErrn3068 über Usa5798 und schlug5221 ihn, daß er seine Hand3027 hatte ausgereckt an die Lade727, daß er daselbst starb4191 vor6440 GOtt430.

11 Da ward2734 David1732 traurig, daß der HErr3068 einen solchen Riß6556 tat an Usa5798; und hieß7121 die Stätte4725 Perez-Usa6560 bis auf diesen Tag3117.

12 Und David1732 fürchtete3372 sich vor GOtt430 des Tages3117 und sprach559: Wie1963 soll ich die Lade727 Gottes430 zu mir bringen935?

13 Darum ließ er1732 die Lade727 Gottes nicht zu sich5186 bringen in die Stadt5892 Davids1732, sondern lenkte sie5493 hin ins Haus1004 Obed-Edoms5654, des Githiters.

14 Also blieb3427 die Lade727 Gottes430 bei Obed-Edom1004 in seinem Hause1004 drei7969 Monden2320. Und der HErr3068 segnete1288 das Haus1004 Obed-Edoms5654 und alles, was er hatte.

Chapter 13

1 AND David consulted with the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and with all the leaders and governors of Israel.

2 And David said to all the assemblies of Israel, If it seems good to you, let us beseech the LORD our God to repair the breaches of our brethren who reside in all towns of Israel, and settle with them priests and Levites in their cities and suburbs;

3 So that they may gather themselves and come to us, and pray before the LORD our God and beseech him because of our sins; for we did not pray before him in the days of Saul.

4 And all the assemblies said that they would do so.

5 So David gathered all Israel together, from the river of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of the LORD from Koriath-narin.

6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Koriath-narin, which belongs to the tribe of Judah, to bring up from there the ark of the LORD God who dwells upon the high cherubim, which are known by his name.

7 And they placed the ark of the LORD in a new cart, and carried it out of the house of Abinadab; and Uzza and his brothers drove the cart.

8 And David and all Israel played before the LORD with all their might, and with singing and with harps and with psalteries and with cymbals and with timbrels.

9 And when they came to the threshing floor of Remin. Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen ran toward the threshing floor.

10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him there because he put forth his hand to the ark; and he died there before the ark.

11 And David was displeased because the LORD had smote Uzza; wherefore that place is called Torethadi-Uzza to this day.

12 And David was afraid of the LORD that day, saying. How can I bring the ark of God home to me?

13 So David was unwilling to bring the ark home to the city of David. And David commanded it be carried to the house of Ober-edom the Gittite.

14 And the ark of the LORD remained in the house of Ober-edom the Gittite three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Ober-edom the Gittite and all that he had.
